History - Vision - Goals

Sharing The Vision was established in September of 2000 and was founded by Jim and Teresa White. The Lord put this name on Teresa's heart early in 1996 as they began full-time missionary service in Haiti. This name represents their desire to share God's vision with others through sharing the Good News, leadership training, and discipleship.

Luke 4:18-19

18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

Ps 82:3

3Defend the poor and fatherless: do justice to the afflicted and needy.

STV is a nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples for the work He is doing on the earth, and meeting the needs of the poor and the less fortunate. The mission also desires to work in unity with churches, other ministries, and missions for the Glory of God and the Good of All.

Mark 12:30-31

30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.

31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

1 Cor 3:9

9 For we are fellow workers, joint laborers together, with and for God...

The actual ministry was birthed in Jim's heart in 1982, the year in which he was saved and received the burden to serve God and others in Haiti. It would be 14 years before Jim and his family sold all their belongings and moved to Haiti to be full-time missionaries. STV worked with several national churches and Christian schools. One of their goals was to break unhealthy dependencies to the Western world through sound Biblical teachings. Dependency continues to be one of the greatest problems in the country of Haiti. This mission's objective is to teach and exemplify total dependency on God and His Word.

Ps 91:14-16

14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.

15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.

After serving 8 1/2 years in Haiti, Jim was unjustly expelled from the country. (Click here for Prison Story)  Sharing The Vision is now working in the Dominican Republic. We are seeing amazing things happen in the lives of the nationals here. The Holy Spirit is transforming God's people into vessels that He can work through. This began as the Dominican Christians began to repent of their complacency and cry out for more of God. Revival has since come to many churches in the Dominican Republic.

2 Chron 7:14

14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

STV is honored to be a part of the revival among the churches. We know that when God begins to work in the lives of His children, our adversary and enemy does so as well. Jesus taught us to warn others that there is a deceiver, and he is very subtle. This is why we stress to new and growing Christians the importance to study God's Word. This is the ONLY WAY we can know Him more intimately. This is the true desire of our hearts in Sharing The Vision, that people will come into a close, personal and very intimate love relationship with Jesus. We know that when this happens in a person's life then the rest of life's difficulties seem very small and insignificant.

Matt 11:28-30

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

The Whites

Jim and Teresa White are originally from New Castle, Indiana where they lived for the first 11 years of their marriage. Jim operated a general contracting business before being called to the mission field. They have been actively involved in church leadership since 1985 and Jim has also served as interim pastor for a small church for about one year. Jim is a licensed and ordained minister through House of Prayer Ministries.

The vision God has given the Whites is to evangelize, make disciples, seek TRUTH, and share with the Body of Christ the importance of walking and living in a close, personal love relationship with Jesus. Jim teaches much about God's desire for an intimate relationship with His children. These simple, yet powerful messages: "Relationship not Religion" and "Practicing The Presence of God" have changed many lives.

The Whites have dedicated their lives to the mission field. They are now serving as field directors in the Dominican Republic. They are hosts for the STV Mission Team House, preach/teach in local churches, train disciples, and work alongside other ministries as an example of unity in the Body of Christ.

Jim is also being asked to go to other countries to minister this life-changing message of "Relationship not Religion." It is his desire to teach others how to Practice God's Presence and learn to rest in HIM. The Whites are very blessed to be a small part of God's work and ask for your prayers that they would bear fruit that remains for God's glory and the good of all.
